Home made tortilla, traditional guacamole

Risotto, Pasta and Rice

Home made tortillas with an avocado dipping sauce.  Perfect for a snack or as part of a Mexican fiesta!

Note

Guacamole will be good for 3 days in the fridge so you can easily make this it ahead of time.

Ingredients

Recipe for 4 persons

Tortillas

300 Gr
Flour
3 Gr
Salt
2 Gr
Baking powder
50 Gr
Shortening
120 Ml
Hot water

Guacamole

Avocado
1 Unit(s)
Lime
1 Unit(s)
Italian tomatoes
0.25 Unit(s)
Red onion
10 Sprig(s)
Fresh cilantro
8 Drop(s)
Tabasco
  • Salt and pepper

Preparation time: 60 min

  • Tortillas

    Combine all of the dry ingredients and make a well in the center.  Add the shortening and combine.

    Finish by adding the hot water and combine well.

    Let rest for 20 minutes and then cut into 8 equal portions.

    Use a tortilla press to make your tortillas or use a rolling pin.

    Cook for 1 minute in hot skillet on each side.

  • Guacamole

    Finely slice the red onion and cilantro.

    Juice the lime and cut the tomato into cubes.

    In a mixing bowl, place the flesh of the avocados and mash them with a fork.  Next, add the lime juice and tabasco.  Season to taste and then add the rest of the ingredients.

    Cover and transfer to the fridge.
